13th July 2018
We are delighted to share some wonderful news with you all!
On 13 July, Kangaroo Pouch Day Nursery, the largest nursery chain in the West Midlands, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Jiangsu Junyi Education Group, announcing a partnership to open British-Style Early Years settings in China.
We are aiming to open 15 centres in Jiangsu Province over the next 3 years. These settings will be delivering an integrated curriculum based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Kangaroo Pouch UK will provide extensive support on teacher training and quality control. The first nursery will open by the end of this year and the second site is also secured. This is the first partnership for Kangaroo Pouch in China. We also have plans to explore further collaboration in other areas of China.

Sara Baber, Lead Manager for Early Years in Sandwell, explained that this is the first nursery in Sandwell to establish overseas branches.
Corin Crane, Chief Executive at Black Country Chamber of Commerce, stressed that China is an important partner of the West Midlands and this type of collaboration highlights the thriving relationships between China and the UK.
Xiaoqi Zhou, the Co-Founder of Jiangsu Junyi Education, emphasised the importance of high quality education to children’s development. She expects this partnership to achieve high care standards for children at those settings.
Gerald La Touche, International Trade Adviser at the Department for International Trade has also supported Kangaroo Pouch with their journey into international markets.
Steven Yang, the Chief Advisor for China at Kangaroo Pouch, will lead the Kangaroo Pouch brand into other areas of China.
